can uu say irony?

A new year...a new era:
The Era of Jensen WALKING!!!!

He's growing up so fast.

...and it's not even the 5th!

Bob's in Town

Jensen's father made it (even after getting stuck at LAX for a time because of the snow) in to town. Jensen has had fun playing with his dad, who is amazed that this child will eat just about anything...including the salsa at the Mexican place we went for lunch the other day!

Happy Solstice!

In this time of cold and greyness, let's not forget that tomorrow the days will grow longer. Use the hushed stillness the snow brings to enjoy your family and friends. I am watching the snow falling outside my window as I type this, and it reminds me that as difficult as things are, at least I am warm inside with my beautiful, sleeping baby, looking out, instead of the other way around.

Be safe, stay warm, and remember that adults can play in the snow, too!

Let us not wish away the winter. It is a season to itself, not simply the way to spring.

Hip, Hip, Hooray!

It's Jensen's Birthday!!
Since his party has been postponed due to the snow, Joshua and I took Jensen to the Cheesecake Factory for a birthday lunch. Jensen was shocked when we told him it was his birthday:
But he regained his composure quickly, and had a great lunch. And he really liked the chocolate cheesecake with whipped cream for dessert!

How incredibly adorable is that face?!

What a difference a year makes! What's funny is that he still gets that same serious expression on his face when he's trying to figure something out. But he laughs and smiles so much...he is such a happy boy. I am such a lucky mom!

Joshua and Dillon Brave the Ice!

It's hard to tell from this video, but our parking lot is on an incredibly steep slope. The snow yesterday brought lots of great sledding conditions, but all that sledding yesterday created an ice ramp today. I don't know if it was funnier watching Joshua or the dog try to get back up the hill! Here's just a little snippet:

my little snow baby

Here is Jensen, in the snow, wearing the sweater his Grandmother Muriel sent him. He liked touching the snow, but right after the last picture was taken Joshua started pulling him on the sled and he fell over into the snow. He most definitely did NOT like that!

We came in and dried off, and all is well. Joshua is still out there, having a great time!

It snowed even more

Joshua got his snow day after all!

my happy baby

Jensen's not going to be a baby much longer. His first birthday is on Saturday!!

What a happy boy. I can't believe it's been a year already!

Little Drummer Boy

The soon-to-be birthday boy!

Jensen is going to be 1 in one week!!!

Dec. 14th

Last night was our first snow of the season. Joshua is so excited, and is hoping that it turns into the first snow day for tomorrow. I'm looking forward to taking Jensen outside in a bit and seeing how he reacts to the snow.

I love when it snows. This is a special day...the first snow and my two beautiful boys here to enjoy it with me!

11 December 2008

my new best friend!

Jensen has discovered that he can practice making funny faces in the mirror!

Some things for which I'm thankful...

(for some reason I couldn't get this slideshow to embed in the blog like I did with the other one. Technology...sometimes great; sometimes argggh!)

Happy Thanksgiving!

I hope everyone had a good holiday. I had a wonderful time with my two sweet boys.
Jensen enjoyed his first Thanksgiving. He ate lots of turkey and salmon and mashed potatoes and pasta and strawberries and cranberry sauce, but... his favorite thing was the dinner roll!

16 November 2008

I can't believe he's 12!!!

Here's Joshua on the electric scooter I got him for his birthday this year.

15 November 2008

What cuties!

Jensen was far more interested in the remote control than the attempted photo shoot!

How Stylish!

Here's Jensen in the cute sweater his grandmother Muriel sent him all the way from England! Isn't he handsome?

Thank you, Muriel, for sending such a nice gift. He always gets complimented on it when he wears it, especially from the church ladies!

Jensen Interview

This is also posted on my class blog, since it was for an assignment, but naturally it had to go here as well:

But it looks so tasty...

Jensen is tired of being on this end of the camera. He would so much rather chew on the camera than have his picture taken by it!

I'm Not Sleepy!

My dear friend Sarah came over last night with her youngest daughter Olivia. We had a great time catching up, and Jensen showed off how well he can stay up late for company!

The Boys

Jensen's First Halloween!

Here's my little devil all dressed up!

We had to get him a costume that was the complete opposite of his personality, otherwise it wouldn't be much fun to get dressed up!
